Family orientation at Phoenix Fire

Last night was family orientation at the fire academy. We were able to tour the academy and see what Brad will be trained on while he is there. They also explained to us what we should expect from Brad at home while he is training - NOTHING. For the next 12 weeks he will be tired, possibly cranky, and need to spend all his weekends resting and studying. So, looks like I will be a single parent around here for a while. There is a light at the end of the tunnel because once he graduates, he will work 24 hours on with 48 hours off. I'm sure I can find plenty of things to keep him busy on those days off. Although with the huge pay cut we are taking, he will need to pick up some overtime shifts. We are all very excited for him because this is his dream and we know he will make an awesome firefighter!
